• Running

    parkrun is a free community 5km run (or walk!) that takes place every Saturday morning at 9am in 1,288 locations around the UK. It’s a great way to motivate youself and meet new people.

    Locals parkruns include Gadebridge (Hemel), St. Albans, Jersey Farm (St. Albans), Dunstable Downs, Leavesden Country (Abbotts Langley), Cassiobury (Watford) and Luton Wardown

    Some locations also offer Junior parkruns every Sunday morning at 9am. They are for 4-14year olds and the course is 2kms. Local ones include Gadebridge (Hemel), Ashlyns (Berkhamsted), Verulamium (St. Albans), Leavesden (Abbotts Langley), Cassiobury (Watford), Katherine Warrington School (Harpenden) and Luton Wardown.

  • Cycling

    Breeze bike rides offer free guided bike rides for women of all abilities. Local rides include those organised by Hemel Blazing Blues and Pacey Purples and the Hemel Mellow Yellows and Graceful Greens.

    Local groups that offer rides for all include Spokes SW Herts Cycling Group, (regular rides between 6-50 miles around Watford and the Chilterns), Alan’s Guided and Community Ride Group, (regular rides from Chipperfield), the Watford Cycle Hub Rides (rides every Sunday at 10am) and the St. Albans Cycle Hub (regular rides on a Sunday).

  • Walking

    Hertfordshire Health Walks offer free guided walks for people of all abilities, across Herts. It’s a great way to meet new people and enjoy the local countryside! The walks range from Gentle First Steps (20-30mins) to Grade 4 (90 minutes).

  • Dancing

    A quick and easy way to add exercise in to your routine is to join Wake Up and Dance, a free 10 minute online dance class every weekday morning at 9am. More details here.

  • Tennis

    Apex in the Community offers tennis courts that are free to book in three locations in Hemel - Coronation Fields (Bennetts End), Reith Fields (Adeyfield) and The Active Hub Dacorum (Grovehill).

    They also offer free tennis coaching on a Saturday morning from 10am-11am at Coronation Fields.

  • Inclusive Sports

    Inclusive United want to increase the opportunities for those with learning disabilities or additional needs, to take part in football and other activity sessions.

    They run inclusive football, inclusive futsal, inclusive yoga and pilates, and down syndrome futsal. All details are here.
